enjoyed reading this 100%. thank you for sharing the book (who doesn't want to laugh!?!) and I have been a die hard Shetland fan! I have not watched Vera but maybe I should now??
my sanity strategies: daily meditation, running, sipping coffee by the window and allowing myself to be arrested by nature time and time again. AND, this morning, I shared something with a group and my last line was "and I have all the feels on this Friday morning." So...I guess Friday feels are in the bainbridge air. 😁
Angie! Thank you, and thanks so much for commenting and sharing your strategies! (And yes, the Friday Feels were apparently taking Bainbridge by storm...)
As for Vera, I loved that show as much as I loved Shetland. As I've been thinking about it, I think one of the reasons Vera fans are mourning the end of the series is because there was not another character like Vera--she was not a "fetching beauty queen"--with a winning personality that men mooned over (thankfully)...she was imperfect--and therefore relatable. I think it's the same reason that for years fans gravitated to Jessica Fletcher--although Vera, as with Shetland, is much darker. Give it a go and let me know what you think! I'll reach out in a week or so to get another coffee on the calendar. Until then, happy running and meditating... D
I am watching season 1 of Vera & enjoying it. She is quite a character. There are so many non-US shows I have enjoyed! thx for bringing this to my attention. Coffee. anywhere. anytime. 👍👊
Adding "Cabin" to my list of books to read. Thanks for the rec. It's good to see how you're navigating these complicated and challenging times, so thanks for sharing what's working for you.
Oh my goodness! How happy I am to see your name! Been thinking about you....and thanks for the recommendation. D
I really liked Newport's book. I'm currently reading and also recommemd to you, Stolen Focus by Johann Hari.
